个人简介湖北浠水人；性格开朗，热爱生活，喜欢各类体育活动。1997年高中毕业后，进入华中农业大学农学专业学习。后考取杨光圣教授的硕博连读研究生，主要从事油菜细胞核雄性不育的遗传和应用研究，虽无建树，但兴趣浓厚。目前研究的主要内容包括利用分子标记辅助选育的途径开展核不育的育种及油菜核不育相关基因的定位和克隆工作。
科研项目承担一项国家自然科学基金面上项目；参与2项国家基金的面上项目和1项863计划。
发明专利及获奖情况1. 2007年，湖北省科技进步奖一等奖：“高产优质抗逆杂交油菜新品种华油杂8号的选育和推广应用”，排名第三
2. 2006年，湖北省科技进步奖一等奖：“高产优质抗逆杂交油菜新品种华油杂6号的选育和推广应用”，排名第三
