查 明，教授，博士生导师，中国石油大学 “矿产普查与勘探” 国家重点学科负责人，国家科技部“863 计划”领域专家组成员，山东省首批“优秀创新团队”带头人。享受国务院“政府特殊津贴”。
1982年获华东石油学院石油地质专业学士学位，1988年获石油大学石油地质专业硕士学位，1995年获中国地质大学（北京）煤田,油气地质与勘探专业博士学位。1998年在美国德克萨斯大学奥斯汀分校 (University of Texas at Austin) 做高级访问学者。1997年晋升教授，2000 年起被聘为博士生导师。
主要研究领域：油气资源评价,油气运聚,成藏机理与勘探评价等。负责和完成国家和省（部）级科研项目及教学改革项目 16项，在国内核心期刊和国际学术会议上发表论文70余篇，出版“断陷盆地石油运移与聚集”,“油气成藏机理及主要控制因素”等学术专著6部，出版教育部“十五” 国家级规划教材“石油天然气地质及勘探”1部 。获国家科技进步二等奖1项,省部级科技进步和技术创新成果一等奖 2 项,二等奖 1 项。
主要学术兼职：中国科学院地质与地球物理研究所聘博士生导师，中国石油学会石油地质专业委员会委员，中国地质学会石油地质专业委员会委员，美国石油地质学家协会（ AAPG ）会员，山东省石油学会和山东省矿业协会常务理事，古地理学报,中国石油大学学报（自然版）,石油与天然气地质,中国石油勘探等学术刊物的副主编,编委。
Ming Zha is a professor of China University of Petroleum(UPC).He obtained his Ph.D. in petroleum geology and exploration from the China University of Geosciences(Beijing) in 1995,and graduated from the UPC in 1982(B.S.degree) and in 1988(M.S.degree).Professor Zha is the head of the National Key Discipline-Minerals Investigation and Exploration and the director of Research Centre for Petroleum Geology and Exploration of UPC.His research interests include petroleum resource assessment(methods and applications), quantitative basin analysis,petroleum migration and entrapment.
He is the member of AAPG,Petroleum Society of China and Geological Society of China,and is the Distinguished Expert who obtained the Speacial Allowance from the State Council.He has publicated more than 70 research papers and 7 books.He got the second-class Award of the State Science and Technology progress in 2002,awarded by the State Council, and 3 provincial awards in science and technology in 2003-2005.Presently, he is leading a key industry-government project on petroleum geology and exploration.
