Dr. Jun YANG is an associate professor at Beihang University (formerly Beijing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics) in Beijing, China. He received a B.S. degree in chemistry in 1984, an M.S. degree in applied chemistry from Harbin Institute of Technology in 1987, a Ph.D. degree in environmental engineering from Tsinghua University in 1998. He also finished his post-doctorate work in School of Environmental Sciences at Peking University in 2000 and then joined Beihang University for establishing the environmental engineering discipline. From 1987 to 1994, he served in environmental engineering division at Shandong University (formerly Shandong University of Technology). Recently, he worked in Department of Engineering Science at Oxford University for one year as visiting scholar. He has two lectures of wastewater engineering and environmental planning and management for undergraduate and a lecture of progress in environmental science and engineering for postgraduate. He has authored or coauthored over 20 technical publications and 1 textbook. He was awarded the Outstanding Contribution Prize to National Long-and-medium-term Program for Sci-Tech Development of State Council of China in 2004 and Presidential Distinguished Teacher Awards in 1991. An active member of numerous societies, he is the member of International Water Association, the Fellows of the Chinese Society for Water Environment and Chinese Society for Environmental Economics.
