G.Blazey博士现任北伊利诺斯大学首席资深科研教授,北伊利诺斯加速器与探测器开发中心主任。费米国家加速器实验室Tevatron/D0国际合作组发言人,美国能源部DOE以及费米实验室自然科学基金项目首席调研顾问。在实验物理研究领域,G.Blazey教授直接领导了D0高能强子单喷注(jet)遍举反应道与双喷注反应道的精确测量,发表了大量极具影响的论文与报告。这些测量为检验量子色动力学QCD理论、夸克渐进自由行为的理论描述提供了坚实的实验事实。在科研行政管理方面,G.Blazey教授负责组织了大型粒子物理实验装置的设计、建造与运行,直接指导了美国能源部、教育部及费米实验室数个百万美元大型项目。现负责D0探测器庞大触发系统的二期升级设计、安装调试与运行维护任务,总揽升级设计方案、能源部项目经费支持以及各参加单位的协调组织工作。具有丰富的大型国际合作科学研究项目管理与运作经验。
Dr. G.C.Blazey is the Director of Northern Illinois Center for Accelerator and Detector Development, Presidential Research Professor of Physics Department of Northern Illinois University, and Spokesperson of DZero Collaboration which holds more than 650 physicists from 80 international institutions. He has also been appointed as Principal Investigator of Department of Energy and Fermilab National Science Foundation projects. Prof. Blazey is experienced in the design, construction, and operation of large scale detectors used in particle physics experiments. His main research field is hadron experimental physics. Under his direct leadership, D0 group has measured precisely the energetic single jet inclusive and di-jets cross-sections, which built up a solid experimental foundation for the QCD theory. Prof Blazey is also an expert of the management and organization of large international scientific projects.
