1980-1984年湖北工业大学获得学士学位，1984-1988年湖北制药厂技术员，1988－1994年清华大学获得硕士学位和博士学位，1994-2002年清华大学自动化系讲师、副教授、副所长，2002-2004年加拿大艾尔伯特大学(University of Alberta)博士后和研究员。2004年受聘为江南大学“太湖学者”特聘教授、博士生导师。研究兴趣包括模型辨识，系统辨识、自适应控制、过程建模、过程控制等。
Biography for Feng Ding
Feng Ding was born in Guangshui, Hubei Province, China. He received the B.Sc. degree from the Hubei University of Technology (Wuhan, China) in 1984, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in automatic control both from the Department of Automation, Tsinghua University in 1991 and 1994, respectively.
From 1984 to 1988, he was an Electrical Engineer at the Hubei Pharmaceutical Factory, Xiangfan, China. From 1994 to 2002, he was with the Department of Automation at the Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. From 2002 to 2005, he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow/Research Associate at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. From 2004, he is a Full Professor in the Control Science and Engineering Research Center at the Jiangnan University, Wuxi, China, and his current research interests include model identification and adaptive control. He co-authored the book ``Adaptive Control Systems'' (Tsinghua University Press, Beijing, 2002) and published over 100 papers on modeling and identification as the first author.

在加拿大Edmonton的几年岁月是难忘的，使我意想不到的是：学术上有了飞跃和升华；我真没想到这几年在学术上、在论文写作上，特别是英文论文写作上竟有如此大的进步。这些得归于几年的辛劳：一年当三年用，真是一份辛劳一份材。在我刚刚到加拿大时，我想：毕竟即将逾越不惑之年，人生顶点似乎已过。能有如此大的收获也得感谢加拿大亚伯塔Alberta大学Tongwen Chen (陈通文)教授的极大帮助和指导，是他的严谨治学态度深深感染了我、熏陶了我，受益匪浅。我要特别感谢Tongwen Chen教授，是他对论文的精心修改：使重点更为突出、使文章语言更为精彩所致。特别指出的是，我发表的有些论文也聚集着Chen教授字里行间的辛劳，这些论文并没有署他的大名，在此我对他的辛勤劳动表示深深感谢。
