Major Research Interests
The ecological roles of the arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) and dark septate
endophytic (DSE) symbiosis in the stressful ecosystem, in particular, the
relationship between the dynamics of molecular AM fungi communities and
aboveground plant community structure in the environments contaminated
by heavy-metals.
Responses of plants, their symbionts (AM fungi) and other rhizosphere
microorganisms (DSE) to the heterogeneous distribution of soil resources.
To use the molecular biological techniques to study the interaction between
AM fungi and the other microorganisms in the rhizosphere soils of the host
plants, in particular, the environments contaminated by heavy metal.
The roles of the Glomalin Related Soil Protein (GRSP) in the bio-remediation
of the polluted and degraded ecosystems.
Plant mutants as model systems for addressing the recognizing molecules during the AM mutual symbiosis and the role of AM fungi in plant competition.
