王守仁老师介绍
王守仁，江苏苏州人，南京大学外国语学院教授、院长、博士生导师，兼任教育部高等学校大学外语教学指导委员会主任委员、中国外国文学学会副会长、中国英语教学研究会副会长、全国美国文学研究会副会长，江苏省外国文学学会会长。
王守仁教授早年赴英国伦敦大学留学，获博士学位。学成回国后，在南京大学任教，长期从事英语语言文学的教学和研究工作。主要研究方向为：一、英美文学史；二、当代英美小说；三、英语教育。
王守仁教授在英美文学研究领域取得丰硕成果。早在1990年，他撰写的英文学术专著《19世纪英国诗剧研究》由英国麦克米兰出版公司出版。20世纪90年代中期以来他主持和参加包括国家社科“九五”规划重大项目和重点项目在内的多项科研项目，出版了《性别·种族·文化》、《新编美国文学史》第四卷、《英国文学简史》等著作，主编《20世纪外国文学史》第二卷，与香港大学英文学院童庆生院长合作编辑英文版当代文学文化研究论丛《批评域》，发表论文100多篇，译著有英国作家哈代的小说《还乡》等。由他和刘海平教授共同主编的四卷本《新编美国文学史》获第四届中国高校人文社会科学研究优秀成果二等奖。
王守仁教授主持的教改课题两次获国家级教学成果二等奖，编写高校英语专业教材10余部，其中《英国文学选读》、《20世纪英国文学史》分别入选普通高等教育“十五”和“十一五”国家级规划教材，由他主讲的“英国文学”入选首批国家精品课程。
王守仁教授关注中国英语教育，参加了教育部《大学英语课程教学要求》起草工作，主编《高校大学外语教育发展报告（1978-2008）》，还参与基础教育改革，主编课程标准教科书《牛津初中英语》和《牛津高中英语》。
王守仁教授获国家教委和人事部授予的“在工作中作出突出贡献的回国留学人员”称号（1991）、“江苏省优秀哲学社会科学工作者”称号（1998）、国家级教学名师奖（2003），两次入选江苏省“333工程”第二层次培养对象（1998，2003），是中共江苏省第11次党代会代表（2006）。
Wang Shouren, professor of English, is Dean of School of Foreign Studies, Nanjing University. He received his Ph.D. in English literature from King’s College, London University in 1988, and has been teaching at English Department, Nanjing University since then. He is Chairman of the National Foreign Languages Teaching Advisory Board under the Ministry of Education, Vice Chairman of China Foreign Literature Association, Vice Chairman of China Association for the Study of American Literature, Vice Chairman of China English Language Education Association, and Chairman of Jiangsu Academy of Foreign Literature.
Professor Wang Shouren’s research covers British literature, contemporary American fiction, literary history, Chinese culture, and English education in China. He writes in both English and Chinese. His English book The Theatre of the Mind was jointly published by Macmillan and St. Martins in 1990. His Chinese books on British and American literature include A Literary History of the United States Since 1945 (2002), Gender, Race and Class (2004) and A History of 20th Century British Literature (2006). He is editor-in-chief of many textbooks, and a co-editor of multi-volume A History of 20th Century Foreign Literature (2004). He translated The Return of the Native by Thomas Hardy into Chinese. Recently he has been working in collaboration with Dr. Q. S. Tong from the University of Hong Kong on Critical Zone: A Forum of Chinese and Western Knowledge, a book series in English aiming to improve understanding across cultures, traditions, discourses and disciplines. Professor Wang Shouren is a recipient of many grants, awards and fellowships, including National Award for Distinguished Teacher, Harvard-Yenching Fellowship and Fulbright Research Visiting Scholar grant.
